I heard a story on the radio about the current conflict. No images to present, but plenty of facts and stories to tell. I heard about how the rate is reaching 100/1. Meaning that for every one Israeli that dies there are 100 people in the Gaza Strip who die. The last total I heard was around 900 people from Hamas (Gaza Strip), and 13 Israeli's. That includes civilians and soldiers.

It gotten to be so bad, that even the Israeli leaders are becoming divided about how to proceed.

It's unfortunate that nearly a thousand people had to die so that now finally the Israeli army is considering their options.

There is so much to learn about the history and background of Hamas, the Gaza Strip, Israel and Palestine relations, but all we hear from the Media is the body count, and the blame game.

No matter how the media tries to spin the news, the truth will be revealed. Will anyone care? All that seems to matter is the image.

Media presnets it very simply: We are right, they are wrong. And in the end the winners write the history right? I think this time Israel has gone too far, and have gone way beyond the limits. They need to be held to some international standards, the conflict is not justice, it's just a plain massacre and it's time to stop the killing and start to talk.

I'm curious to know how the media influence led to the initial conflict. In other words, what was on the TV and news stations before the conflict broke out? How much impact did the media have in creating a divisive context?

And also, if the media led to such divisive views, could it have had the opposite affect? Could the media have led to negotiations, to peaceful dialogue between two parties? Surely there had to be some better way.

For a country with such a long history of being oppressed, I would have thought that Israel would not be so eager to utterly crush an opponent that is clearly out matched. Israel has the 5th largest army in the world. Why do they feel the need to show it? What's the point? Hopefully the media will reveal some light on the subject... Or maybe not.
